The two main types of countdown timers commonly used are the header countdown and the product countdown.

Header Countdown: A header countdown is typically displayed at the top of a website or on a specific page, such as the homepage or a promotional landing page. It serves as a general countdown for a limited-time offer or an upcoming event. The purpose of a header countdown is to create a sense of urgency and encourage visitors to take action, such as making a purchase or signing up for a promotion, before the countdown reaches zero.

The header countdown is usually displayed prominently and can be seen from any page on the website. It may include elements like days, hours, minutes, and seconds, indicating the remaining time until the offer or event expires. The countdown is often set to a specific end date and time, and once it reaches zero, the offer or event is considered expired.

Product Countdown: A product countdown, on the other hand, is specific to individual products or a group of products within an online store. It is typically displayed on the product page, near the "Add to Cart" button or in the product description area. The purpose of a product countdown is to create a sense of urgency and encourage customers to make a purchase by highlighting a limited-time discount or availability of the product.

Note that you can also add countdowns where you want on your website by going to the theme editor and add the countdown ID to the block.

The product countdown is usually set to a specific duration, such as a few hours or days, indicating the remaining time until the discount or availability expires. It may include elements like hours, minutes, and seconds or simply display the remaining time in a textual format. Once the countdown reaches zero, the discount or availability of the product is no longer valid.

Both header countdowns and product countdowns are effective marketing tools to drive conversions and create a sense of urgency among customers. The choice between the two depends on the specific marketing strategy and the desired impact on the target audience.
